About me

Hi, my name is Nathalie!

I am 25 and I live in Paris. I grew up in England and lived for seven years in Mauritius where I learned French, which is why this website is in two languages.

My parents are South African and Mauritian so I was lucky enough to learn a lot about different cultures while I was growing up. Discovering new customs and languages became more and more important to me so I went on to study semiotics, communication and storytelling as well as linguistics and translation. Suffice it to say that I love learning new things about languages, whether living or Ancient or technological, even.

I called my blog The Natterbox because my brothers Marc and Greg have always greatly suffered from my endless chatter and once nicknamed me the “natterbox” since I was “Nathalie the Chatterbox”. This paired with my love of word play and the fact that the whole point of blog is to talk made me think that this name was meant to be.

I intend to write mainly about food, culture and crafting on this blog. I hope you’ll enjoy reading my articles while sipping on your favourite hot drink.

Signed,

Nathalie The Natterbox
